Breastfeeding and the Sexual Abuse Survivorby Kathleen Kendall-Tackett, PhD, IBCLC
Explores the physiological, behavioral, emotional, cognitive, and social influences of child sexual abuse and rape in women’s lives and gives suggestions for supporting breastfeeding mothers with such histories. Provides background on patterns of health care use common among abuse survivors. Gives self-care tips for clinicians who provide care for abuse survivors.
